Car Insurance Audi (Car Insurance). How difficult is it to take the carburator out of a commercial sized walk behind lawn mower to clean it?How difficult is it to take the carburator out of a commercial sized walk behind lawn mower to clean it? have heard that you can soak it in a solution and it cleans it...if have it gunked up..is this true? how difficult to take it off for a novice mechanic? and which solution should put it in? where can buy this? anything can explain appreciated. The carb on a small engine is very simple to clean, and even rebuild. If I were you, I'd start with removing the carb, and then spraying it out with carb cleaner - any extensive soaking will likely damage the gaskets and such. You can remove the fuel bowl on most carbs to spray-clean and de-varnish it and the needle/float assembly. Any 'gunk' will most likely be taken off this way, and you can re-install and be good to go. It is not difficult, just take it completely apart. If it has air and fuel set screws count the number of turns it takes to bottom them out before removing them and remember or write each down so when you replace them you can have it pretty well adjusted. When you remove the bowl be careful not to loose the needle valve or bend the tab. Remove all the braze that you can in the bowl section that you can and soak all in lacquer thinner. Do not soak any thing that has any rubber on it as it will dissolve. After it has soaked for about 30 minutes, blow it off with air be sure to blow all the holes. Now reassemble the carb and you are set to go. Auto parts : Jack Pad Acura 1995 . Jack Stand Alfa Romeo 1996 . Jack Tire Lift Audi 1997 . Jacket BMW 1998 . Jaw Grip Puller Buick 1999 . After further inspection I realized my tank was empty after having a half tank of gas when I parked it. So I put more fuel in thinking that was the problem, however it was leaking on the ground. I couldn' tell where it was coming from due to it being dark out besides it was on the side of the tank toward middle of truck. Today, I went back out and put more fuel in it but this time it didn't leak and still wouldn't start. It did act like it was going to after this first crank then after that it just cranked over. So we now have the Aventador, which has taken the empty throne left by the Murcielago. The Murc was my childhood dream car, so I was a little sad when it was axed. But I've come around and I think I like new one better than the bat. But now I have to wonder, what about the Gallardo? Sure, it's gorgeous looks are matched by it's equally sweet engine noise, but it's starting to get on in years. The Ferrari 458 Italia, the McLaren MP-14C, these rivals have burst onto the scene and are a step ahead. The Gallardo is a gold mine for Lambo, best selling supercar I believe? So what's next? Audi . Ignition Timing InstructionsThe term "ignition timing" refers to the point at which the spark plug is fired by the coil, and is measured in degrees of crankshaft rotation. This common adjustment is critical to the efficiency of the engine, and gets us the maximum horsepower and fuel mileage out of the gasoline we use. Reading Base Timing Today's computer-controlled vehicles use an on-board computer to calculate the proper timing advance or retard, but these calculations are done assuming that the base timing is correct. Base timing is the amount of timing advance before the computer calculates the proper total timing based on the timing curve programmed into the computer. To set base timing, a pre-adjustment procedure must be followed. This procedure may include warming of the engine, disconnecting a timing connector or even disconnecting the coolant temperature sensor. The only way to know for sure is to consult the service manual for your specific vehicle (see Resources). Timing Accuracy Timing accuracy can be affected by a slipped balancer ring or worn timing chain. These areas should be checked as a matter of habit regardless of the manufacturer's procedures. A slipped balancer ring is readily apparent with a close visual inspection. Timing chain wear, however, is a little more difficult to spot. To check for excessive wear, rotate the engine by hand to top dead center in a clockwise direction. Then while observing the distributor rotor, turn the engine counterclockwise until the rotor moves. The change in timing on the crankshaft pulley indicates the amount of wear. Anything more than a few degrees can cause base timing to move around. Common mistakes Common timing mistakes can be eliminated by following procedures for the specific vehicle being worked on. The most common one is setting timing while idle speed is too high. This is caused by not warming the engine properly before making an adjustment. Another common mistake is setting timing while the computer is still in control by not disconnecting a timing connector. This can result in timing that is so far off that the vehicle will not be functional. ResourcesService Manuals
Audi . Mustang Timing ProceduresFord's EEC4 ignition system was introduced in the mid-1980s. This system can be identified by its distributor-mounted ignition module. In the mid-1990s, the EEC5 ignition replaced it, and the ignition module was remote mounted. Timing adjustments are the same for both systems on the Mustang. Preparation Prepare for the timing adjustment by starting and running the engine until it reaches the temperature the Mustang normally operates at. This temperature is located on the temp gauge in the instrument cluster. The EEC 4 and EEC 5 computers both run cold engine ignition timing curves until operating temperature is met. The high idle speed of a cold engine can throw the timing readings off. While the engine is heating up, locate the timing connector and its shorting bar. This needs to be removed to read and adjust base timing. The connector is located near the distributor on the EEC4 system and near the module on the EEC5 system. Reading Base Timing Turn off the engine and unplug the timing connector shorting bar. Install your timing light. Restart the engine. To read base timing, locate the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and the pointer located on the timing cover. Aim the timing light at the pointer and timing marks. It will seem that the engine stopped rotating due to the strobe effect of the light. Base timing is the number the pointer is pointing at on the crankshaft pulley. Setting Base Timing To set base timing, loosen the distributor hold-down, the U-shaped metal plate located at the base of the distributor. Rotate the distributor until the marks line up with manufacturer's specifications. Tighten the hold down and re-verify the timing didn't move when tightened. *check them regularly to keep things under control, and try not to check them under extreme temperature conditions or after you've been driving around. Here's what you need to do to check the air pressure in your tires: 1. Buy an accurate tire gauge at a hardware store or auto supply store. Figure 19-2 shows you what a tire gauge looks like. I show you how to use one a little later in this section. 2. Determine the proper air pressure for your tires by looking for the proper inflation pressure on the tire decal. You can find the tire decal on one of the doors, door pillars, glove box, console, or trunk. Sometimes the tire decal specifies one pressure for the front tires and a different pressure for the rear tires. 897

Remove the little cap from the tire valve that sticks out of your tire near the wheel rim. You don't have to remove your hub cap to do so. 4. Place the open, rounded end of the tire gauge against the valve so that the little pin hi the gauge contacts the phi hi the valve (see Figure 19-2). Audi .
